Lockdown Living, Day 78: ⁣ ⁣ Basically me right now. ME is flaring and has been for while, docs think it’s because I’m having to work so much harder with my breathing and it’s still not safe to go back on my steroids. So i’m constantly exhausted, everything I do makes me breathless which tires me further. *screams into the void* ⁣ ⁣ I want to read, doodle, crochet, blog, sew but at the moment all I can manage is to watch tv and listen to audiobooks. Useless AND unproductive. Sigh. ⁣ ⁣ However my wonderful sister order this unicorn inflatable kid bed. It’s for when one of both of the girls eventually get to stay at hers or grandparents again. But for now it’s a fun thing in the front room just in time for the weather to turn. It also makes a good place for me to rest downstairs! 🤣🤣⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #covid19 #pandemic #coronavirus #socialdistancing #selfisolation #lockdown #medicallyvulnerable #immunocompromised #asthma #mostvulnerable #spoonie #shielded #12weeklockdown #chronicillness #shielding #asthmasucks #pwme #fibrowarrior⁣ ⁣

Yesterday I made Keto Chicken and Dumplings. It was my first time ever and it tasted amazing! I read a couple recipes and kind of took ideas from here, and there, and a few of my own. Ryan loved it! I made the dumplings using Carbquik (low carb biscuit mix similar to Bisquick, found on Amazon) and added to the dumplings powdered garlic & onion, parsley, sage, black pepper and red chilli flakes. 🤤😋 - Also I had to start my 6th round of 30days of keto over. On Sunday my husband and I were gifted such a sweet and thoughtful snack basket from friends. Friends we haven't seen in months due to the lockdown. Ordinarily we wouldn't eat the things that were included, but I decided to make an exception because of all the thought and hard work that went into it. So the next day (Monday) I went back to eating how I normally do now. Keto is a lifestyle change for me, I am not on a "diet". I've been very strict these past 6 months, but I'm also staying balanced. I could have given the snacks away to someone else or whatever, but I was moved by their kindred and allowed myself to indulge. All that being said, I now have 28 days left in the new 30 day challenge! - #ketowayofeating #ketosis #intermittenfasting #healthylifestyle #lowcarb #sugarfree #lchf #mswarrior #keto #fatadapted #eatingforhealth #fasting #nonscalevictory #weightlossjourney #ketoprogress #lifestylechange #healthychoices #multiplesclerosis #generalizedanxietydisorder #ketoforhealth #ketoforhealing #ketoforautoimmunedisease #autoimmunedisease #sugarfreelife #healthjourney #mentalhealth #fastingforhealth #30daysofketo #30dayfitnesschallenge #immunocompromised

Lockdown Learning, Day 45: ⁣ ⁣ Spent the day planning how we are going to move ahead with home learning. School learning at home is not easy, especially when teaching her they way they want me to would require me learning it first, which I’m currently not capable of. So, after speaking to her teacher we are taking his lesson plans and using resources we have access to (Twinkl, bbc bite size, bbc teach, YouTube, prodigy etc). This should cause less stress all round. ⁣ ⁣ So today we went through my Instagram and chose the 10 photos that had the most meaning to us so far. We discussed them all, how we felt. We chose more than 10 but these are the ones that spoke to us most right now.⁣ ⁣ 1. CofE call to prayer.⁣ 2. Our rainbow signs.⁣ 3. First day of home education.⁣ 4. Our last walk. ⁣ 5. T when nanny had to leave. ⁣ 6. T and Auntie Angela. ⁣ 7. The sign. ⁣ 8. Together.⁣ 9. The first clap for carers. ⁣ 10. Chris’s Birthday. ⁣ ⁣ What are your favourite pictures from this time? I’d love to see! ⁣ ⁣ #covid19 #pandemic #coronavirus #socialdistancing #selfisolation #lockdown #medicallyvulnerable #immunocompromised #asthma #mostvulnerable #spoonie #shielded #12weeklockdown #chronicillness #shielding #asthmasucks #pwme #fibrowarrior⁣ ⁣ #homeed #homeschool #homeducation #pandemichomeed ⁣ ⁣

I wanted to share some really exciting news with everyone. About one year ago today I got my bone-marrow transplant. Yesterday was a huge milestone in my transplant process because I finally got cleared of recovery!! This means that I no longer have any eating or physical restrictions and I can re-enter society as a normal person who isn't immuno-compromised anymore! For the past few days I have been feeling uneasy about celebrating this accomplishment because of all of the recent events going on in the world. How am I supposed to celebrate my life when so many people are suffering, either from Covid-19 or from the Black Lives Matter movement? But with the help of my friends and family, I have decided that I need to be proud of this moment, and I need to celebrate this monumental day that I worked so hard for this past year. I can't believe I made it a whole year in recovery and I just want to say a huge thank you to all of my friends, family and doctors for guiding me and supporting me along this journey! Louie and I will be heading back to Palm Springs on July 1st on an RV cross-country road trip! We will be living with his mom for a little while as we get back onto our feet =) So please come say hi before we leave! Because of the pandemic still happening, we can do a socially-distanced visit outside with masks on. I hope this news can bring a little bit of joy to you today in these dark times ❤️ Please stay safe and healthy out there, I am sending love out to everyone!! <3 #bonemarrow #transplant #immunocompromised #celebration #accomplishment

Protesting from my front yard today between doctor appointments! I encourage my fellow #spoonies who are homebound and/or immunocompromised during this time to do the same (if you are physically able to). Sending extra love out to African Americans in America who are also burdened by healthcare disparities and suffer from invisible illnesses. You matter. #immunocompromised #lymedontkillmyvibe #EQUALITY #useyourwhiteprivilegeforgood #doyourpart #supportblacklives #justiceforgeorgefloyd #disABLED #educateyourself #protestinplace

It's that time again!!! Through all the craziness in this world and injustices, my injustice has been survival with a genetic disease. On average, I have about 2 to 3 surgeries a year since 2009. This is my life that I have come to accept and life is just too precious. I am fortunate to be alive and it feels great to see all the nurses and doctors again!! #love #acceptance #grateful #ftm #bodhichitta #bodhisattva #pelvicinjections #botox #immunocompromised #perseverence #mucklewellssyndrome @ucla

I'm immuno-compromised, so watching the country start to "open up" again during this pandemic has made me feel nervous and anxious. If your nonprofit serves: --Seniors --People living in long-term care facilities --People with underlying health conditions (like me) I created this awareness kit for you! Find it at nonprofitjenni.com/coursesandmore Comment with any questions, and please tag anyone you know who works for a nonprofit that serves the above populations.

Today sees 12 weeks training in the garage gym. I’m one of the lucky ones who managed to gather some kit before lockdown and with my new powerlifting program from @tattooedandstrong and the awesome insta live HIIT sessions twice a week that @jdpro_fitness has been running, weight has been maintained and I do believe we have some #garagegymgains 🙌 💪#12weeksprogress #powerlifting #mentalhealthmatters powerlifting #fitover40 #humpdayvibes #rheumatoidarthritiswarrior #lockdown #garagegym #immunocompromised #hydroxychloroquine #methotrexate

While there is still a pandemic going on, not everyone can get out and protest. Health concerns, disability, compromised immune systems, medical devices, concerns for social distancing, fatigue, etc can hold many of us back from protesting and feeling like our voices aren’t being heard. However, there are things we can do from home to fight systemic racism and condemn police brutality. I made a short list of things you can do from your own home that are valid and sincere ways to support, protest, learn, and join the #BLM movement in positive and affective ways. Please feel free to share your favorite BLM Instagram pages here in the comments. Constructive comments, voices of support, and additional ideas are also welcome. Hate speech will NOT be tolerated. You will be deleted and reported. I hope this list helps round out some ideas on ways you can help contribute and join the millions of voices demanding change. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻 #immunocompromised #socialdistancing #immunosuppressed #protest #bethechange #support

When you have #type1diabetes and keep trying to eat cereal in the morning even though it jumps your blood sugar up from 90 to 275 😫🙄 Certainly can’t be doing that anymore! (PS- Many thanks to KY Governor Andy Beshear for keeping #immunocompromised folks like myself safe with his #healthyathome efforts...and for giving us a pretty amusing saying. ) 😂 #t1d #coronavirus #andybeshear #teamkentucky #covid19

When the world offers change, we must change for the better. I never thought I'd have to seal myself behind a mask. I wear one for others, and because it's an easy step to help make things better. I was very much alone in a lot of ways that I never anticipated. Being one of a very limited few present for imaging/consult is weird. This office used to be packed during my appointments, leaving staff stretched thin and the waiting room sweltering. Kindness and patience was given, and it was obvious how much it was needed. Baby is hefty and active, but cozy too. A balance between both Biggs and Smalls. #pregnantduringcovid19 #covid-19 #covidmask #2020ayearofchange #bekind #bethechange #compassion #patience #newnormal #bebetter #keepmovingforward #progressforprogresssake #immunocompromised #highrisk #hypothyroidism
