“ Kushi-Age “
If you often go to an Izakaya in Japan, you must have tried this Japanese food already, right?
Kansai region people sometimes call this food “ Kushi-Katsu “ though.
I’m also not sure which name is correct, haha.
Fishes and vegetables are fried with bread crumbs on this dish, so this dish contains sugar(carbohydrates) so much.
It’s seldom to eat it ( it’s due to my low carb diet), but when I order it, I often eat it with salt, not with sauce.
Thanks to the salty taste, I can taste ingredients ( of the fishes and vegetables ) more.
Also, Kushi-Age with salt really goes well with Japanese sake.
( In my opinions, it’s suitable to white wine too.)
Actually lots of international tourists relatively like Kushi-age of fish, but frankly speaking, Kushi-Age of vegetable is much more recommended.
As you might know, Japanese food place importance on “ ingredients “, and we can feel “ ingredients “ with Kushi-Age of vegetable more than that of fish.
When you try Kushi-Age next time, it might be better to try lots of vegetable Kushi-Age.
