#sydneyoperahouse

I will never forget this experience! 😍🤩 It is Australia’s most iconic structure and one of the most distinct and easily identifiable buildings in the world. The Sydney Opera House is undoubtedly beautiful, but is it also steeped in history you might not know about. 🇦🇺 I had the opportunity to explore a completely empty Opera House theatre and visited all the main theatres. Managed to get a sneak peek of a rehearsal as well. 🎭🎼🎵🎶 #throwback #2017 #sydney #australia

Today we're sharing two new digital resources! Links in bio ➡️ The first is a new 'Fridays with Brook' conversation "Reflections on biennales and ‘art’ from First Nations curatorial and philosophical perspectives" - Taiwanese Bunun curator Biung Ismahasan, Canadian Anishinaabe curator, artist and educator Wanda Nanibush and New Zealand curator Megan Tamati-Quennell (Iwi affiliation: Te Ātiawa, Ngāi Tahu) share their perspectives on the model of a biennale in the context of First Nations thought and expression. The Opera House also shared a recording of Aabaakwad 2020: NIRIN - the international gathering of Indigenous artists, curators and thinkers which launched the 22nd Biennale of Sydney in March 2020. Tune in for this Indigenous-led conversation on Indigenous art by those who create, curate and write about it. In 2020 we welcomed artists from over 24 First Nations and 12 countries. • Image: Wanda Nanibush and Brook Andrew speaking at Aabaakwad 2020: NIRIN. Is there anything Adam can't build? His experience ranges from restaurants like Bennelong at the iconic Sydney Opera House, to private residences designed by some of Australia's best Architects, to pools, rennovations big and small, apartments and commercial spaces. He's also a lot of fun. 🤪 Here he is installing Tallowwood cladding at Darling Point 💪🏼

To happier days when I wasn't considered an essential worker. Pictures taken about an hour apart near dusk, couldn't choose which I liked better. Purple or blue?

~ The Spirit of Words ~ In our daily conversation, we use various words ans pronunciations to express ourselves. The sounds of these words are vibrations which are formed through the mouth, basal and throat cavities in coordination with the vibrating uvula, the walls of the cavities, the teeth, the motions of the throat muscles, and the vocal cords, as well as the respiratory movement. The forces which create these vibrations, however, are originally descending from heaven through the hair spiral in the centre of the head, and asending from the earth through the lower region of the body. Accordingly, when our physical and mental conditions are harmonious with the environment (through proper diet, exercise, etc), the sound of our words is able to represent the powerful forces of heaven and earth, and our verbal expressions are able to carry the true vision of nature and the universe. Words and verbal sounds pronounced in such a healthy state, harmonious with the environment, represent the universal spirit, and give a powerful influence both to ourselves and to all beings surrounding us. • • • • • #sound #soundhealing #soundtherapy #doin #dointherapy #kushi #spiralofsound #spiritofwords #5elements #fiveelements #chinesemedicine #yogiofig #yogiofinsta #yogiofinstagram #sydneyyoga #cityyoga #urbanyoga #operahouse #sydneyoperahouse #sydney #balancingact #handbalancing #balancing #handstand #handstandvariation #yogatherapy #yogatherapyaustralia #yogateacher #
